EU commission plans new spin on financial tax

EUObserver reported that the European Commission will revise its impact assessment of its autumn 2011 proposed financial transactions tax (FTT), which included a worst-case scenario leading to job losses. The responsible commissioner said in February 2012 that original projections were 'misused' and the overall impact of the proposed new law would be positive.
