EU considering special summit on Libya

EUObserver and EurActiv report that European Council President Herman Van Rompuy was holding talks with member states on the 28 February 2011 on a French idea to hold an extraordinary EU summit about the implications for the EU of the unrest in Libya and north Africa in Brussels in early March 2011.

In the event it was agreed to hold a summit meeting on the topic on the 11 March 2011.
