Twelve EU countries warned investors in July 2014 not to do business with Israeli settler entities, amid a security crisis in Israel and Palestine.

According to EUObserver on the 4 July 2014, the group included Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia and Slovenia.

The series of reciprocal attacks continued in the Middle East: after large-scale missile attacks by Hamas, the Israeli air force again bombed targets in the Gaza Strip. Some commentators blamed Israel's government for the climate of hate, while others urged the moderate forces to stop extremists in both camps.
