EU to appeal WTO ruling on aircraft subsidies

The European Union is expected to launch an appeal against a World Trade Organisation ruling of 30 June 2010 that found EU members were illegally subsidising Airbus.

The action will open the next chapter in the six-year dispute pitting the European aeronautics group against Boeing, its US rival, and by proxy the governments that have allegedly subsidised them in contravention of WTO rules.
