Eurogroup meeting, 26 January 2017

A meeting of the Eurogroup was held on 26 January 2017. The agenda includes the following topics:

+ Discussion on the progress achieved in the second review of Greece's economic adjustment programme, together with an update on the implementation of the short-term debt reflief measures endorsed on 5 December 2016;

+ Briefing on the outcome of the 6th post-programme surveillance mission to Ireland and the 5th post-programme surveillance mission to Portugal;

+ Exchange of views on the IMF presentation of the findings from its interim mission relating to the Article IV consultation with the euro area;

+ Discussion on the draft recommendation from the Council of the European Union regarding the European Semester for 2017 and the economic policy for the Eurozone;

+ Discussion of Spain's and Lithuania's updated budgetary plans, based on the Opinions issued on 17 January by the European Commission;

+ Debate on the transposition of the Fiscal Compact into national law by the Eurozone member states and on a special report by the European Court of Auditors on the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).
