A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council was held in Luxembourg on 16 October 2017. The agenda included the following topics:

+ Discussion on Iran and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA);

+ Discussion on the situation in the Korean peninsula, in view of the latest activities by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK - North Korea) and adoption of further restrictive measures;

+ Discussion on how the European Union can contribute to strengthening the implementation of UNSC resolutions;

+ Discussion on EU cooperation with Turkey on regional situations;

+ Debate on the EU policy on human rights, followed by the adoption of conclusions on the mid-term review of the Action Plan on human rights and democracy, the EU annual report on human rights in the world and on the protection and promotion of human rights;

+ Adoption of conclusions on Myanmar, in the light of the situation in Rakhine State.
