France and Britain must join forces

Commentary feature written in the context of the state visit of French President Sarkozy to the UK, March 2008. It argues that the two countries should show a lead in planning for closer European defence co-operation and that, in collaboration with Germany (the 'Club of Three') the meeting should emphasise the value tight policy co-ordination and co-operation between the three countries.
