French president’s partner hospitalised after affair claims

President Francois Hollande aimed to set out his plans to revive the weak French economy at a press conference on the 14 January 2014, and deflect questions about his private life after allegations surfaced of a secret love affair with an actress.

Seven months after President François Hollande’s breakup with Valérie Trierweiler made headlines around the world, France’s former first lady revealed her side of the story in a tell-all book published on the 4 September 2014.
