EUObserver, and other news sources, reported on the 8 June 2011 that German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble believed Greek bankruptcy was imminent, according to a leaked letter, and argued that restructuring of the country's debt was necessary.

Other features discuss the issues as the deadline of the end of June 2011 loomed when EU leaders were due to decide on dealing with the continuing debt crisis in Greece.
