Greece’s Golden Dawn vows to run in EU elections despite crackdown

Ilias Kasidiaris, a senior lawmaker and one of Golden Dawn's prominent public faces, said in February 2014 that the party would find a way to contest local and European elections in May 2014 despite the crackdown on the party.

Golden Dawn's leader and five other lawmakers were by then in jail due to an investigation into whether it is a criminal organization, but it remained Greece's third most popular party as of February 2014.
