The Debates feature from Euro|Topics offers English (+ French and German) translations of a selections of articles in European news sources on this topic.Features focusing on the campaigning in the 2017 Presidential Election in France between the first round of voting held on the 23 April 2017 and the second and final round on the 7 May 2017 between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron.

The two candidates took part in a live and final TV debate on the 3 May 2017.

Hacking claims had continued throughout the campaign right up until the days before the holding of the second round of the election on the 7 May 2017.

The campaign team of Emmanuel Macron confirmed on the 5 May 2017 that it had suffered a 'massive and coordinated hacking attack' after internal documents were released online, mixing genuine and fake documents.

The French electoral authorities made clear on the 6 May 2017 that anyone circulating information leaked after the hacking attack targeting Emmanuel Macron could be committing a 'criminal offence'.
