EU Ministers at the Justice and Home Affairs Council on the 14 September 2015 should take into account four considerations:

+ an orderly process should be put in place at the EU level and with transit countries for refugees
+ sorting asylum seekers from economic migrants remains a necessity
+ in an aging European Union with declining demographic trends, welcoming refugees is a genuine economic opportunity
+ the EU is bound to take a strong stand. As the largest peace and human rights project in history, the European Union should take the lead instead of silently watching this human tragedy engineered by dictators and their foreign supporters.
