A hotly debated issue in the Brexit debate is the extent to which Britain will be able to negotiate bilateral trade deals in case it exits the European Union. How quickly and how effectively can that be done? Christopher Gray considers the different scenarios. While the outcomes of such negotiations are impossible to predict, Gray reckons that it can’t be assumed that Britain is bound to get quick and good deals because it is a large economy.
