Hungary calls for IMF assistance / IMF to offer Budapest help but with conditions

The European Commission received a request from the Hungarian government on the 21 November 2011 for possible EU financial assistance. The Hungarian authorities had also sent a similar request to the IMF. They indicated that their intention was to treat any EU support that might be made available as precautionary.
