Plans for a big anti-Kremlin rally in Moscow on Christmas Eve are reported to be building, with tens of thousands indicating their intention to attend as Russia’s opposition seeks to keep up momentum after parliamentary polls earlier in December 2011 that many saw as fraudulent.

The Kremlin appeared to be actively stoking the discord in an effort to torpedo protests, with a campaign to discredit the opposition leadership.
