Iran nuclear talks: Envoys warn of big hurdles to deal

US and European foreign ministers met with Iranian officials in Vienna in July 2014 to try to galvanise talks on Iran's nuclear programme, amid increasing fears that agreement would not be reached before a deadline of 20 July 2014.

On the 19 July 2014 the EU and Iran issued a statement 'We, together with the Foreign Ministers of the E3+3, have ... decided to extend the implementation of measures of the Joint Plan of Action until 24 November 2014, in line with
the timeframe that we envisaged in the Joint Plan of Action.described in the Joint Plan of Action in an efficient and timely manner'.
