Irish budget: Michael Noonan is to abolish ‘Double Irish’ tax structure

The Irish Finance Minister Michael Noonan presented Ireland's budget for 2015 on the 14 October 2014. It was billed as the first non-austerity budget since 2007.

Amongst the proposals Mr Noonan announced that he was abolishing the controversial 'Double Irish' tax structure.
This had allowed large multinational firms like Google, Facebook and Apple to legally shift substantial profits from Ireland to countries that are considered tax havens.
