The Republic of Ireland's two main opposition parties have called for an immediate general election after an EU-led bail-out of the country's economy, November 2010.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen resisted Opposition demands to resign immediately and announced he would seek the dissolution of the Dáil after the budget is passed.
