A cross-party panel of the Italian Senate recommended on the 4 October 2013 the expulsion from the chamber of ex-Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi over his conviction for tax fraud.

Berlusconi had earlier threatened to topple the coalition government over the issue but backed down during a confidence vote on the 2 October 2013.
