On 1 Febuary 2017, President Juncker and Vice-President Timmermans expressed concern regarding the latest developments in Romania which may damage the fight against corruption. The remarks followed the release of a report published on 25 January, which noted that despite some improvements Romania needed greater transparency in publishing information about combatting corruption.
