Key findings of the 2016 Report on Turkey

The European Commission published on 9 November 2016 its annual report on Turkey's economic and political reality in the framework of the European Union's 2016 Enlargement Package.

This report was released in the context of a post-coup reality, in which a state of emergency was invoked and a wave of arrests hit several sectors of the society. The text also highlights the reform of the Turkish judicial system, the instability in parts of its territory, the human rights situation and the state of fundamental values.
