Klaus and Cameron threaten Lisbon treaty

Reports of the European Council, Brussels, 18-19 June 2009. Europe’s leaders stepped up their efforts to save the European Union’s Lisbon reform treaty as they agreed a set of guarantees designed to encourage Ireland to reverse its previous No vote to the package of changes. Opponents of the treaty include Czech president Vaclav Klaus and UK Conservative leader David Cameron.
