Launch of proposals to tackle barriers to freedom of establishment

Summary:

The European Commission unveiled on 2 May 2017 a package of measures aimed at making it easier for people and companies to manage their paperwork online in their home country or while living and working in another member state.

Further information:

This package includes the following proposals:

+ [COM(2016)256] Proposal for a Regulation establishing a single digital gateway to provide information, procedures, assistance and problem solving services;

+ proposal for a Single Market Information Tool (SMIT);

+ a SOLVIT action plan.

The set of initiatives was put forward in the framework of the Commission's Digital Single Market strategy, launched in May 2015.
