Leftist Hamon easily wins French Socialist primary runoff against former PM Valls / What Benoit Hamon’s victory means for French presidential race

Benoit Hamon won the election in the runoff primary held in France on the 29 January 2017 to select a socialist candidate for the 2017 Presidential Election. He beat ex-Prime Minister Manuel Valls by 59% to 41% of the votes cast.
