‘Like-minded countries’ hold mini-summit with Turkey

Germany, Austria and other EU member states were scheduled a mini-summit with Turkey on 17 December 2015 to explore possible ways to admit Syrian refugees to Europe.

European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker was expected to attend the meeting, which included a discussion on an additional scheme to take Syrians directly from Turkey which member states would be able to join voluntarily.

Another EU-Turkey summit was scheduled to take place in February 2016, according to the results of this mini-summit.
