Lithuania breaks Gazprom’s monopoly by signing first LNG deal

EurActiv reported on the 21 August 2014 that Litgas, the gas trading arm of the state energy holding company Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy), and Norway's Statoil signed a five-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal preliminary valued at 2.5 billion to 3 billion litas (EUR 725-870m).
