Media reports suggested in September 2015 that European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker knew about a missing page of a report from 1997 in which Luxembourg's tax rulings practices had been uncovered. Mr Juncker stated otherwise at a hearing with the European Parliament's special tax committee on 17 September.

The report, written by Luxembourgish Christian Social MP Jeannot Krecké - who would later become Jean-Claude Juncker's Minister for the Economy - dealt with tax evasion in Luxembourg and was presented to the government of the Grand Duchy in 1997, of which Mr Juncker was the prime minister.
