Macedonian police fire tear gas on migrants at Greek border

News sources reported on the 10 April 2016 that Macedonian police used tear gas, plastic bullets and water cannon to push back more than 500 migrants from a border fence alongside the Idomeni refugee camp on the Greek side.

Doctors Without Borders reported treating at least 300 people for tear gas and trauma.

Greece condemned the action of the Macedonian police. The UN Refugee Agency said on the 11 April 2016 that it was greatly worried about the violence the day earlier.
