Medvedev orders probe into state companies

Article reports that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered a probe into the activities of Russia’s state-owned companies, August 2009, as pressure mounts over the government’s handling of the economy that shrank 10% in the first half of 2009.

Companies included in the investigation would include: Russian Technologies (who own the car manufacturer AvtoVAZ), VEB, the state bank, Rusnano, the state nanotechnology corporation and the deposit insurance agency.
