The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on 24 January 2014 reached an agreement on the draft directive on e-invoicing in public procurement. This agreement - endorsed by the Member States on 24 January 2014 - will contribute to eliminating barriers to cross-border public procurement. It will also ensure interoperability between national e-invoicing systems and, ultimately, a better functioning of the Single Market. The European Parliament will now have to vote on the draft directive in a plenary session and the Council will have to formally adopt it afterwards. |
