Memo: EU-Swiss relations / Immigration debate in Switzerland

To this day, the EU and Switzerland have concluded over 120 bilateral agreements. The highly complex relationship is managed by dozens of joint committees and subgroups. In view of the recent referendum vote in favour of curbing immigration held in Switzerland on 9 February 2014, the European Commission on 10 February 2014 published a Memo outlining the relations between Switzerland and the European Union.
