Merkel backs NATO buildup in Eastern Europe

Report of a speech by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the German Parliament on the 7 July 2016 in advance of the NATO Summit, Warsaw, 8-9 July 2016.

She accused Russia of 'unsettling' NATO allies with its actions in Ukraine. However, she also called for both 'deterrence and dialogue' with Moscow.
