Merkel Lobbies for Schäuble to Head Euro Group

Article reported that German Chancellor Angela Merkel was reportedly pushing in March 2012 for her Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäubl to be the next head of the Euro Group, the informal body that governs Europe's common currency. But Mr Schäuble could face resistance from France over fears that Germany was becoming too powerful in eurozone economic governance.
