Merkel pledges ‘no artificial delays’ to Balkans’ EU prospect

German chancellor Angela Merkel completed in July 2015 a tour around the Balkans region, visiting Albania, Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

During the meetings with local authorities, Ms Merkel reassured there would be no holdup in their drive to join the European Union, and said it was in the bloc's interests they make it in.
