Merkel to organise Western Balkans conference in August

The German chancellor announced on the 7 June 2014 a high profile conference dedicated to the Western Balkans’ integration in the European Union in sign of support to the ‘forgotten’ EU enlargement process.

A report published by the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy stated that the Greek sovereign debt crisis not only hit Greece but also damaged its Balkan neighbours’ EU accession hopes.
