Paris applies ‘friendly pressure’ on French language use

Former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, special envoy on francophony to President Nicolas Sarkozy, said after a meeting in Brussels that France was on a mission to strengthen the use of the French language in the EU Institutions.
