According to a new report produced for the French Ministry of Economy, a Europe-wide minimum wage, adapted to each country, would support the EU's economic revival and tackle "low cost" labour from Eastern European countries.

Jean-Claude Juncker addressed to the European Parliament before the confirmation of his appointment as the President of the European Commission on the 15 July 2014 and mentioned he would work towards the introduction of a minimum social wage in each member state of the EU.
