Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on the 10 June 2013 he wanted to fight for another term in office, quashing speculation that he was preparing a bid to take over as the next European Commission President.

On the 11 June 2013, Mr Tusk said that the Polish Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski would make a strong candidate for a senior job in the European Union, fuelling speculation that Rostowski's six-year tenure is drawing to an end.
