The European Court of Justice's Advocate General Pedro Cruz Villalón released his Opinion on 6 October 2015 regarding Case C-308-14 between the United Kingdomn and the European Union.

Mr Cruz Villalón proposed that Court should dismiss the Commission’s action against the United Kingdom concerning allowances for children. He considers that checking whether claimants are lawfully resident in the host Member State does not impose any condition additional to what is inscribed in EU law, but simply examines the lawfulness of that residence according to European rules.
