Press Release: Asylum Procedures Directive: more protective and more harmonised standards for granting and withdrawing international protection in the EU

On 7 June 2013 the Council adopted its position on the proposal for an amended directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on common asylum procedures for granting and withdrawing international protection status. The objective of the recast of the directive is to make these standards of procedures more protective for applicants for international protection and to achieve more harmonisation of national asylum procedures.
