Press Release: Commission approves the terms of accession of China and Taiwan The negotiation result applies to the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) to WTO

The European Commission approved the terms of accession of the People's Republic of China to the World Trade Organisation on 19 September 2001. These results will now be transmitted to the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament for formal adoption.
