Press Release: Council clears way for signing Association Agreements with Georgia and the Republic of Moldova

The Council of the European Union concluded on the 16 June 2014 technical preparations for the signature of the Association Agreements between the EU and Georgia as well as between the EU and the Republic of Moldova.

These accords aim to deepen the political association and economic integration with the EU and will also lead to a deep and comprehensive free trade area with both partners.

Both agreements were scheduled to be signed in the margins of the European Council on 27 June 2014 together with the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
