The Council of the European Union adopted on the 16 June 2014 a regulation which extends the duration of the SESAR joint undertaking until 31 December 2024.

Set up in 2007, the SESAR joint undertaking is a public-private partnership which manages the development of the Single European Sky Air Traffic Management Research (SESAR) project.
