On 19 June 2015, the Council of the European Union extended the EU restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol until 23 June 2016.

As previously stated by the European Council on 19 March 2015, the EU reaffirmed its committment to the full implementation of its non-recognition policy.
