Press Release: Iraq: EU increases humanitarian assistance

On the 22 October 2014 The European Commission announced that it was increasing its humanitarian assistance for the Iraq crisis by an additional €3 million as winter approached and the number of civilians forced to abandon their homes continued to rise as a result of the fighting.

This additional funding would deliver vital assistance to hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people in Iraq, including those who were trapped in areas of intense fighting as well as to Iraqi refugees in neighbouring countries.
