The question of whether Germany’s minimum wage rules should apply to foreign lorry drivers using its roads divided the members of the European Parliament during a debate with transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc on 25 March 2015.

According to Ms Bulc, the European Commission was still assessing the implications of these rules, which Germany had already partially suspended (for transit drivers) earlier in 2015.

In April 2015, Germany marked 100 days since the introduction of a national minimum wage, with reports suggesting the government was set to make some changes on the regulations.
