Press Release: Parliament urges Commission to show strong leadership in 2016

The European Parliament approved in plenary on 16 September 2015 a non-legislative resolution which set out recommendations for the European Commission's 2016 work programme.

Members of the parliament considered this programme needed a clear political vision to tackle the challenges of energy supply, climate change, transition to a digital society, job creation, migration, the rule of democracy and fundamental law.

The European Commission was scheduled to discuss its work programme for 2016 with the European Parliament on 29 October 2015.
