The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, appointed on the 18 December 2014 Dr Edmund Stoiber as Special Adviser on Better Regulation.

It was also announced that there would be a reform of the reform of the Impact Assessment Board. The IAB would be transformed into a Regulatory Scrutiny Board.
