On 6 April 2016, the European Commission presented its revised proposal for a Regulation on the establishment of an Entry-Exit System to speed-up, facilitate and reinforce border check procedures for non-European Union nationals travelling to the Schengen area for a short stay (maximum 90 days in any 180 day period).
