Press Release: Tobacco Directive: Parliament approves plans to deter young people from smoking

On the 26 February 2014, the European Parliament approved a revised EU Tobacco Products Directive. This new law strengthens the rules on how tobacco products are manufactured, produced and presented in the European Union, and introduces rules for certain tobacco-related products. It also decided to make tobacco products less attractive to young people.
